The top 3/8-inch of each core was removed for testing.  The asphalt is extracted and recovered as prescribed by California Test Method 365 (CTM 365).  Viscosities were determined on the recovered asphalt binder using a sliding plate microviscometer (CTM 348).  Penetrations were calculated from a nomograph.

The American Standards and Army  Corp of Engineers likes to see a 45% reduction in Viscosity values and a 25% increase in Penetration values to be considered a quantitative success in rejuvenation. The fundamental  goal is to reduce viscosity values while increasing penetration values as this truly reflects a retardation in the brittleness and oxidation of the asphalt binder which in turn will offer the life span increase for which we are pursuing.

We hold records of hundreds of Lab results for Texas, Utah, Colorado & Arizona Cities, Counties and Agencies which we will be happy to provide on a case by case basis to validate our Product and Processes
